“ I was so surprised to find such a classy Japanese restaurant tucked away in the heart of Wilyabrup. The food was super fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. My favourite dish was the Beef Tataki — perfectly seared and full of depth — while my partner couldn’t get enough of the Sashimi, which was delicate and melt-in-your-mouth fresh. The setting is just as impressive: dog-friendly, with both indoor and outdoor seating surrounded by picturesque vineyard views. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between relaxed and refined, and the staff were attentive, warm, and professional throughout. Highly recommend this spot for anyone exploring the Margaret River region. ”

“ Very sumptuous Japanese fusion dishes. We had the beef tataki, gyoza, sakana curry (pan fried fish fillet in Japanese curry sauce) and the double salmon sushi roll. Top it up with affogato and chocolate brownie for dessert. We also had a bottle of Fishbone Blue Label Chardonnay. Overall, a good place for slow and relaxing lunch. We were seated at the outdoor area, weather was a bit cold but they provide the mobile heating post to make it more comfortable. ”

“ I’ve been keen to visit Fishbone for a year and I wasn’t disappointed. The sushi is very good. Service was friendly and efficient and the environment was conducive. But the biggest surprise was not locally sourced…their Italian Prosecco was dry, bright and fruity and I could have spent the afternoon drinking bottle after bottle if I hadn’t been elected the skipper…next time. ”

“ We chose to go as my Wife is a fan of Japanese food and the family's previous restaurant in Bunbury was world class. Maybe the B team were in the kitchen the day we went. Disappointed in the waygu beef, compared to other restaurants, which was unpleasant texture and barely seared but they could not cook it any more. The chicken looked unappetising - big chunks but was OK. The salad with miso dressing was the highlight and the panko prawns. Exceptional and friendly service by our waitress (who, without asking, took the beef off the bill as we could not eat it) and the wine tasting server was friendly, very knowledgeable but was totally overwhelmed by the number of customers. Lovely outlook from the terrace. ”
